My Top 7 Favorite Places To Eat - MUST TRY!
Who doesn't love delicious food? Food is one of the most rewarding things to travel for and I love experiencing local restaurants and a variety of cuisines throughout the country. So, I've decided to take you on a delicious journey and share a few of my local favorite restaurants and dessert shops within USA that I've visited multiple times.
1. Taiyaki - New York, NY 🍦
I am a chiketerian (if that’s even a word); I don’t eat fish but that doesn’t mean I wouldn't love to slurp on a soft-serve from a fish shaped waffle cone filled with custard! This place is home to the legendary fish-shaped taiyaki cones. The ice cream at this place is made in small batches to preserve the taste of a delicious soft serve. You should also try their fluffy Japanese pancakes. Sorry, I couldn’t wait to eat them (hence no picture 😋)
2. Bake Cheese Tart – San Francisco, CA 🍮
My mouth starts watering every time I think about this place. This cheese tart alone is worth a trip to San Francisco. They are crispy from outside and gooey from inside. They literally melt in our mouth. There are a few flavors to choose from such as chocolate, strawberry, blueberry or lime but nothing beats the classic cheese tart!
3. The Holy Donut - Portland, ME 🍩
Doughnuts or donuts (however you like to spell it) sounds delicious, doesn't it? Are you someone who loves their doughnuts taste like cakes? Then you should check out the deliciousness they have at this place. The Holy Donut has consistently been rated as one of America's top places for doughnuts. They are made them from scratch everyday using fresh local ingredients including the Maine potatoes. They have an incredible variety of flavors. My favorite is their very famous pomegranate flavor (which is PINK! of course).
Enough of my favorite desserts! Let me enlighten you with my favorite local restaurants.
4. Shizen Vegan Sushi Bar and Izakaya - San Francisco, CA 🍣
Looking to take a break from meat but also craving for some delicious sushi? Then you are at the right place! I knew there was something delicious in-store for us when we were told that the wait time was 3 hours. The spicy garlic miso Ramen 🍜 and the philadelphia roll are to die for!
5. Green Goddess - New Orleans, LA 🌱
This restaurant is located in the heart of French quarter with an amazing courtyard style seating. They have many vegan and vegetarian Cajun dishes. My personal favorites are the Cheese Grits, Pecan Orange Mushroom Pate, Rolled Uttapam and Local Lemongrass Tofu!!
6. Ahadu Ethiopian Restaurant - Seattle, WA 🥙
Honestly, I wasn’t a great fan of Ethiopian cuisine but it grew on me and then I found my perfect spot to enjoy Ethiopian cuisine. This restaurant is known to utilize traditional Ethiopian herbs and spices along with other fresh and natural ingredients. I ordered the chicken Injera platter; which comes with different curries and is served on a large sourdough flatbread.
7. Godavari - Woburn, MA 🍛
You can take an Indian out of India, but you can never take India out of an Indian. The only reason you should try this place is because they serve the great Indian “Bahubali Thali”. It is the biggest thali served in the country with 50 dishes (LIKE OMG 😲). It literally takes two people to hold it! Not to mention the deliciousness packed in the thali itself.
Ensure that you reserve a spot at least 24 hours prior to your arrival.
Four of us couldn’t finish it. I challenge you to finish it!
That's it for now. Make sure to check out these spots and try all the deliciousness they have to offer! 😋
